London attractions: Dine with Henry VIII and his court at the Medieval Banquet
Published: Wednesday 16th of January 2013
Tourists looking for a different sort of dining experience after a day of London attractions should not miss the chance to enjoy the delicious, and thoroughly entertaining, Medieval Banquet.
Diners are invited to join King Henry VIII and his court of knights, troubadours, contortionists, magicians, jugglers, minstrels and medieval tumblers on a typical 16th century evening.
They will tuck into a hearty four-course feast, along with ale and wine which will be served up throughout the meal by merry dancing wenches.
During the meal, the music is taken from the Medieval and Renaissance courts of Europe, covering the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th centuries, with the band bringing to life 800-year-old musical manuscripts.
After the banquet, guests are keen to get up and have a dance to the tunes of their own century, so club music is played until late.
The Medieval Banquet is held in the stunning St Katherine Docks alongside the river Thames.
