London attractions: Celebrate Olde England at the Fan Museum

Published: Thursday 13th of December 2012

The English capital is full of quirky little London attractions to educate and inspire visitors and one great example is The Fan Museum.

Visitors love perusing the first and only museum in the world entirely devoted to the ancient art and craft of the fan.

The museum is always running enjoyable exhibitions, such as England's Green & Pleasant Land, which is running until January 6th 2013.

This exhibition is designed to celebrate all that is English as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee year draws to a close.

It starts with "The Hapy (sic.) Restoration" - a rare wood-block printed fan, and thereafter takes visitors on a moving journey through the cultural, social and political landscape of 250 years of England.

Visitors will be delighted with the museum's selection of delightful 18th century fans depicting everything from formal city squares and stately homes to idyllic scenes of rural life.
