London attractions don't come any better than Westminster Abbey
When meandering down the Thames on a warm, London afternoon, it would be madness not to take a small diversion and see Westminster Abbey.
A stunning Gothic building, the abbey constantly attracts tourists keen to get a glimpse and a feel for one of the city's most historic attractions.
It has been honoured as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with various historical figures having played their part in the building's tradition from all corners of society.
Indeed, far from it being solely about religion. The abbey has its very own scientists corner, which is used as a memorial for the great Isaac Newton, while it has also a strong regal theme running through it.
It's now used as the coronation church with the current queen, Elizabeth II, having been crowned on the famous King Edward’s Chair.
Most recently the abbey saw the funeral of the Queen Mother, as well as the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
