London attractions: World's largest flower show hosted by Hampton Court
Published: Monday 8th of July 2013
If you are a lover of natural beauty and you are looking for things to do in London, then be sure to pop down to the Hampton Court Flower Show which will feature over 34 acres of stunning plantlife.
The event is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), and is thought to be one of the largest annual garden shows.
Taking place at Hampton Court Palace from July 9th-14th, the show is expected to attract hundreds of visitors from across the UK and internationally.
This year a number of celebrity speakers are set to make an appearance, including TV presenter and interior designer Linda Barker. Other speakers include Bill Oddie, who is an author, actor, comedian and artist who is famous for being one of The Goodies - a trio of well-known British comedians, which also included Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden.
Another famous face to make an appearance at the Hampton Court show is Kate Humble, a TV presenter who has worked at the BBC and specialises in wildlife and science programmes.
Visitors to the flower show can also enjoy speeches by other well-known personalities including David Domoney, John Craven and Tim Wonnacott.
This year's event is also set to feature a Catwalk in Bloom theatre programme where fashion and horticulture will combine to showcase a collection of clothing designs inspired by plants.
Guests can also explore a mixture of show gardens and learn how to grow their own masterpieces, from experienced gardeners.
A number of dining options will be available on the day including Mediterranean summer feasts and seafood restaurants.
Roaming musicians and bands will provide plenty of live entertainment on the day, which concludes with an amazing display of fireworks.
Hampton Court Flower Show has been going since the 1990s, and was originally created by Historic Royal Palaces and Network Southeast.
In 1992, the RHS became the successful bidder for the event and has been organising it ever since.
Last year attracted over 600 exhibitors to the show.
