London attractions: See the Leonardo da Vinci: Anatomist at the Queen's Gallery

Art enthusiasts looking for things to do in London later this year should not pass up the opportunity to see the Leonardo da Vinci: Anatomist exhibition at the Queen's Gallery.

Touted as the largest ever exhibition of Da Vinci's studies of the human body, the artist's works will be showcased in the royal space from May 4th until October 7th.

Many people know the historical figure as one of the great artists of the Renaissance, but he was also a pioneer when it came to understanding human anatomy.

Had he managed to publish his cutting-edge work in the field before his death in 1519, European knowledge of the subject would have been transformed.

Unfortunately, his drawings remained among his private papers unpublished for almost 400 years.

People visiting the Queen's Gallery before April 15th will be treated to an exhibition based around the pioneering Antarctic photography of George Herbert Ponting and Frank Hurley.
