London attractions: Masterpieces on display at the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art

Published: Friday 10th of May 2013

The Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art  should be the first on the list of any London attractions for any art lover worth their salt.

This unique gallery is home to some of the finest pieces of Italian art from the early 20th century. Its permanent exhibitions retain a heavy focus on Futurist paintings and sculptures.

Forthcoming exhibitions at the museum this month include a collection entitled 'Architecture, Design and Art in Italy' featuring works by the late Italian photographer Giorgio Casali.

Casali documented some of the most striking achievements of Italy's greatest post-war architects and designers and produced them for a magazine called Domus.

Guests will also have the chance to view the 'Everything made Bronze' exhibition, which is a new film by artists Graham Ellard and Stephen Johnstone.

The film is centred around extraordinary displays of light which help to evoke a greater sense of appreciation for the plaster-cast sculptures in the  Museo Canova gallery in Italy.
