London Attractions: Take a walk on the wild side with London Zoo

Published: Saturday 23rd of February 2013

London Zoo is a great day out for all the family who are on the hunt for great things to do in London. This attraction contains exotic creatures from near and far and is a great way to educate kids about the animal kingdom.

The zoo was opened in the 1800s and is thought to be the world’s oldest scientific zoo. Some of the highlights of this special attraction include a Tiger Territory meerkats and kangeroos. It also features a reptile house, which this year includes a rundown of some of the most interesting snakes this year.

This is particularly fitting for 2013 as it is also known as the Chinese Year of the Snake.

The zoo is a great place to learn more about animals, as it features over 12,000 of them. But it doesn’t end there. If you are an animal lover, you also get a chance to adopt a creature, to contribute towards its well-being and supporting conservation work at the zoo.

But if you are more into the nightlife, there is a whole area dedicated to that, with a host of nocturnal creatures such as bats, rats and armadillos to tickle your fancy.
