The royal family have always been a cornerstone of British heritage, so if you are looking for things to do in London this month, why not take a trip to Buckingham Palace?
Buckingham Palace is undoubtedly the most famous of royal residences and is the principal workplace of the British monarch.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people flock to visit the palace, along with other royal households such as Hampton Court Palace and Kensington.
So if you are on a trip to London, what are the top three venues where you can catch a glimpse of royalty?
One of the most striking things about this palace is the fact that it is furnished with some of the most invaluable works of art known to man.
The palace often hosts some of the greatest ceremonies, investitures and state visits that are organised by the royal household.
Visitors to the residence will get a unique chance to visit the state rooms, which are regularly used by the Queen and members of the royal family for entertaining official guests.
The palace is rather impressive in its scope and magnitude and contains over 19 state rooms in the palace, along with 52 royal and guest bedrooms, 78 bathrooms, 92 offices and 188 staff bedrooms.
There are a multitude of things to see and do at Kensington Palace. Here you can make your way through the magnificent King's and Queen's state apartments.
But perhaps the most special aspect of a visit to Kensington is the unique chance it offers to get up close and personal with the late monarch Queen Victoria.
Throughout the rooms where she once lived, there are displays of personal objects used by the Queen plus intimate accounts of her private life.
Hampton Court Palace
This residence is the former household of the colourful and flamboyant King Henry VIII. This beautiful building is furnished with a vast array of tapestries, works of art and luxurious furnishings.
It is also surrounded by 60 acres of intensely beautiful greenery, which include the famous maze and Great Vine.
