Fireworks to put the sparkle back into London

Published: Monday 28th of October 2013

London will be ablaze with fireworks this month as the nation gears up for an array of sizzling firework displays next week.

Never has there been a more colourful time to visit as venues put the sparkle back into the capital.

If you are out and about in London over the next week or so, why not head down to Wimbledon Park, which will be hosting fireworks on November 5th.

The night will be split into two sections. The first half will include bonfire and fireworks displays that are suitable for young children.

There will also be a noisier and more exciting display for adults, in the second half. And to add to the fun factor, there will also be a fair which is open until 10pm.

But while you're in London, why not take a look around? In Wimbledon for example, there is the famous Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum, which was opened in 2006 by Prince Edward.

Don't miss the museum's Tennis on the Riviera exhibition, which features an array of artefacts such as posters, graphics and photographs.

The museum give visitors an insight into the history of tennis in the UK and features interactive touchscreens which give guests a fantastic introduction to this world famous tennis club.

Alternatively, why not head down to Alexandra Palace? The venue will also be holding a firework display, which will be the first in four years.

In addition to a family funfair and a street food village, guests will get the chance to enjoy their German bier festival in the Great Hall, which features Bavarian waitress service and live entertainment.

Other firework displays will take place in Brockwell Park, where Lambeth Council will host a memorable display created by the team behind the London Olympics fireworks.

There will also be a big display at Crystal Palace.
