Dine at Henry VIII's the Medieval Banquet for things to do in London

Published: Thursday 16th of August 2012

Tourists looking for fun things to do in London cannot go wrong with The Medieval Banquet, which offers the sort of night out that Henry VIII and his court would once have experienced.

Held at Ivory House in St Katherine's Dock, the Medieval Banquet is a fantastically entertaining experience, combining fine food and wine with cabaret.

Visitors will enjoy a hearty dinner in Tudor style, and will have their very own serving wench, with the four-course banquet taking place by torchlight.

After the meal, diners are invited to let their hair down as there will be music and dancing until late.

People seeking other Henry VIII-related places to dine could opt for a trip to the Tiltyard Cafe at Hampton Court Palace, which is situated in an area of the grounds originally used by the King for jousting.

Some lucky visitors will be able to witness the Tudor Kitchen firing up again, and on these special days the kitchen will offer one of its hot selections cooked to an original recipe.
