Celebrate Britain's year of sport with a Lord's Tour for things to do in London
Published: Thursday 20th of December 2012
This year has been a massive one for British sport, so why not celebrate 2012 with a trip to Lord's Cricket Ground for things to do in London?
With a tour of the ground visitors can go behind the scenes of some of the most famous moments in cricketing history.
Visitors will be treated to a 100-minute tour around The Home of Cricket by an expert guide, who will inform them about the site's history as well as tell anecdotes about goings on there.
A Lord's Tour starts in the MCC Museum, which is home to the world-famous Ashes urn. It also features a number of paintings, photographs and other artefacts covering 400 years of cricket history.
As the tour progresses, visitors are invited to walk through the heart of the Pavilion to the famous Long Room, which is both a cricket watching room and something of an art gallery.
