Xmas tree recycling at Kew Gardens
Published: Sunday 7th of December 2008
While Christmas might not have even arrived yet (despite some shops having put their decorations up in October) one top London attraction is thinking about what to do with used Christmas trees once the festive season is over.
Kew Botanical Gardens is offering the chance for visitors to dispose of their old trees in an environmentally-sound and worthwhile manner.
From December 26th staff at Kew will be receiving trees that are past their best for recycling into mulch to help nourish the soil around the grounds.
What's more, in keeping with the seasonal spirit of giving, they will reward donators with special vouchers valid throughout January.
Visitors looking to drop off their trees can take them to the Brentford Gate entrance between 10:30 and 16:00 until January 11th - minus all tinsel, baubles, coloured lights and miniature snowmen, of course.
LondonPass holders can receive free entrance to Kew Gardens, saving £13 for adults, with a further 10 per cent discount on entry to the nearby Kew Palace.
