Kew Gardens is one of the most picturesque London attractions – and now is the perfect time to visit as the new spring weather heralds the blooming of many of its beautiful flowers.
The oriental paperbush is one such plant that is just beginning to open up, its clusters of highly fragrant flowers creating a sight to behold in Kew's woodland garden.
Native to China and Nepal, while also found in Japan, this plant grows in forests, on scrubby slopes and near streams.
The paperbush takes its name from the fact that for centuries it has been used in its native countries for making high-quality paper, most notably Japanese banknotes.
Meanwhile, a roster of exciting Easter events are set to begin at Kew Gardens, confirming its status as one of the most family-friendly London attractions.
A new Treehouse Towers areas is opening, while various other activities, such as crafts and face-painting, will keep the kids entertained for hours over the Easter break.
