Relax in a garden this weekend
Published: Thursday 5th of June 2008
Fans of flora and fauna will no doubt be keen to visit top London attractions such as Kew Gardens.
This weekend however, horticulture enthusiasts will also be able to visit 173 of London's smaller gardens, many of which are usually not open to the public.
Many of the participating gardens will also be providing refreshments, in addition to entertainment and activities for families and children. Others will be hosting music events or plant sales. Essentially there is something to satisfy most appetites on what promises to be sun-drenched weekend.
Participating venues include the Academy Gardens and Calthorpe Project Community Gardens in central London, the Inner Temple Gardens in Lambeth and the Manchester Square Gardens in Marylebone.
Londonist.com recommends the popular Kensington Roof Gardens and SOAS garden on the roof of University College London.
