Pick up a Node at Kew Gardens
Published: Sunday 3rd of August 2008
Next time you pop to Kew Gardens do not forget to pick up your handy Node Explorer as you wander around.
For the uninitiated, a Node Explorer - which costs £4.95 to rent - is a handheld device which has become a common feature of many attractions throughout London.
The in-built GPS system logs where the holder of the device is and provides a range of information to make the journey around the attraction more informative and enjoyable.
Indeed, every inch of Kew Gardens has been mapped, providing a wealth of audio commentary and text-based information.
According to NodeExplorer.com, the devices are also available at a range of other tourist sites, sporting events and for education field trips.
Catherine Halcrow, head of Interpretation at the Zoological Society of London, commented: "After assessing all the other handheld media platforms on the market, Node was the obvious choice."
