Kew lecture series continues into 2009
Published: Wednesday 31st of December 2008
The world-famous Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew in south-west London will continue to provoke thought and debate with their successful lecture series as 2009 gets underway.
Thanks to the highly-regarded Kew Mutual Improvement Society, a series of fascinating talks will be held in January as a range of intriguing horticultural topics are uncovered.
On January 5th diploma student Tessa Mills will present Rodrigues: Horticulture, Conservation and Aliens, while on January 12th herb expert and broadcaster Jekka McVicar will give a lecture entitled Medicinal Plants in the Home.
But surely the highlight of January's programme will come on January 26th with Ice and Fire – Oregon and California, as diploma student Emma Crawforth explores the botany of these diverse and captivating US states.
LondonPass holders can receive free admission to Kew Gardens, saving £13 for adults, as well as a ten per cent discount on admission to the nearby Kew Palace.
