Kew Gardens celebrates Darwin anniversary
Published: Wednesday 18th of March 2009
Kew Gardens has an exciting programme of events coming up over the next few months, with visitors invited to join in the fun.
Among the highlights will be Darwin walks, which will take place in the grounds to mark the 200th birthday of the founder of evolution.
It is also 150 years since his world-changing book the Origin of the Species was published, which gives people even more of an incentive to join the festivities.
Walkers will be able to see an array of plants outside Palm House Parterre, which are all inspired by Darwin's own property and work.
Children need not miss out either, with an Easter egg hunt scheduled to take place on April 12th.
Friendly characters will be on hand to add to the occasion, with children advised to get there early to avoid disappointment.
With the London Pass, visitors can enter Kew Gardens free of charge, saving £13 per adult.
