Kew Gardens celebrate 250 years with special coin

One of the world's most famous botanical gardens will celebrate its 250th anniversary with the issue of a special coin.

The Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew have announced the sale of a limited-edition 50 pence piece which will not be put into general circulation.

Designed by Christopher Le Brun and available in a special display packaging, the coin features a image of the garden's iconic pagoda alongside the anniversary dates of the UNESCO world heritage site.

With a limited edition run of only 50,000, this item is sure to be a favourite among botany enthusiasts and coin collectors alike.

The coin is priced at £6.95 and is available from the attraction or by mail order.

LondonPass holders can gain free admission to Kew Gardens, saving £13 for adults, in addition to a 10 per cent discount on admission to the nearby Kew Palace.
