Get on your bike and go London sightseeing
Published: Saturday 24th of May 2008
More and more people in London are leaving their cars at home and taking to wheels, it has been reported.
A new initiative called the Workplace Cycle Challenge aims to encourage a legion of Londoners to get on their bikes and cycle to work, reports Bike Radar.
The capital's recently elected mayor, Boris Johnson, has given his backing the idea of getting more people to embrace pedal power.
He commented: "It's good for the cyclist, good for the city and good for the planet. The first few trips might feel tough, but the summer is clearly the best time to take this up."
Budding cyclophiles in possession of a London Pass can enjoy an exhilarating bike ride courtesy of the London Bicycle Tour Company free of charge. The tour is a great way to go London sightseeing and take in a multitude of London attractions, without increasing the size of your carbon footprint.
