Embark on a safari walk at the London Wetland Centre

Published: Thursday 12th of June 2008

Visitors to the London Wetland Centre this month will have the chance to embark on a Wetland Safari Walk.

Beginning at 18:30, the special safaris allow participants to explore the goings-on at the reserve and get a close-up view of its wildlife and plants during the longest days of the year.

Tours take in the Butterfly Garden, Sustainable Gardens and the Wildside areas of the reserve.

Dr Richard Bullock, chief ecologist at the top London attraction commented: "Southern Marsh Orchids will be appearing in their hundreds in the coming weeks. A particular highlight of the tour will be to spot a Bee Orchid as it may be flowering in the wild areas of the reserve."

The safaris take place today (June 12th), as well as June 19th and 26th. Booking is essential.

The centre's Water's Edge Café will also be holding Sizzling Summer BBQs throughout the season.

London Pass holders can receive free entry to the London Wetland Centre.
