Chelsea Physic Garden celebrates snowdrops
Published: Saturday 21st of February 2009
Visitors to London this weekend can head for the Chelsea Physic Garden, which will be celebrating its winter opening.
Due to have opened a couple of weeks ago but postponed by the bad weather, the stunning gardens are now inviting visitors to take a look round.
One of the highlights is the excellent array of snowdrops - appropriate when you consider the recent cold snap - which boasts a collection of over 75 species.
They are carefully grouped to celebrate some of the greatest snowdrop breeders of the 19th and 20th centuries, which people can find out more about by getting their hands on the garden's new publication, Snowdrop Days.
Visitors are also welcomed to the Snowdrop Theatre for a further celebration of the plant.
The London Pass gives free entry to the Chelsea Physic Garden, giving a saving of £7 per adult and £4 per child.
