Banish the winter chills with tropical plants at Kew Gardens

Published: Friday 16th of January 2009

Kew Gardens could provide welcome respite from the chilly winter conditions with a special exhibition of tropical species.

For a limited time from February 7th to March 8th, the world-renowned botanical institution will host its Tropical Extravaganza in the Prince of Wales Conservatory.

As part of the celebrations of Kew's 250th year, the attraction will offer visitors the chance to see a staggering number of rare and exotic plants, including beautiful orchids and species such as anthuriums and bromeliads.

Experts will be available throughout the day to answer any questions and provide useful information on these precious examples of nature's wonder.

There will also be a series of tropical nursery tours and fantastic hands-on sessions to really gain an insight into this fascinating aspect of botany and experience the kinds of plant life found in some of the furthest and most remote corners of the globe.

LondonPass holders can enjoy free general admission to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, saving £13 for adults.
