Sir David Attenborough to appear at one of top London attractions

Published: Monday 19th of April 2010

One of the top London attractions for wildlife is set to play host to one of the foremost experts in the natural world: Sir David Attenborough.

Visitors will have two opportunities to see Sir David giving a special talk, as he will be appearing at London Wetland Centre on May 26th and 28th.

He is appearing at the facility to tie in with its 10th anniversary celebrations, having opened the centre on May 26th 2000.

The London Wetland Centre website suggests it is an especially fitting time to be celebrating the anniversary, what with 2010 being the International Year of Biodiversity.

"Over the past decade the centre has become a magnet for over 180 species of birds plus small mammals, plants, amphibians, reptiles and insects," it stated.

London Wetland Centre, which is situated in Barnes, has been described by BBC television's wildlife expert Chris Packham as "one of the most important conservation projects of the past century".
