London Zoo's penguins enjoy the snow

Published: Tuesday 3rd of February 2009

A merry band of inquisitive rockhopper penguins were among the animals to brave the cold conditions at London Zoo, as record levels of snow fell on the capital yesterday (February 2nd).

While the wintery conditions might have made their enclosure look a little more like home for the cute little creatures, many were born in captivity and as such were slightly confused by their snow-covered surroundings.

Elsewhere around the famous attraction, kangaroos could be seen taking what must surely have been their first steps on the snow, while a llama was pictured with a rather bemused look on its face as it realised it blended into its surroundings a little more readily than usual.

LondonPass holders can enjoy the splendour of London Zoo in winter time for free, saving £13.90 for adults and £10.90 for children.
