London 'growing in popularity'

Published: Sunday 1st of March 2009

More people are visiting London's variety of museums, galleries and heritage sites, among others, new figures show.

Statistics from the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (Alva) show that 60 per cent of such attractions are experiencing more tourists this year, with overseas visitors taking advantage of excellent exchange rates.

It is believed that visitors to London "enjoy terrific value, benefit from a strong exhibitions programme and at the same time support the local economy", says Robin Broke, director of Alva.

He adds that better weather predictions for the country will mean tourism increases even more over the coming months.

London has a range of activities on offer to tourist, Alva states, with zoos, unique experiences and family-friendly attractions to name but a few.

Perhaps one of the capital's most famous attractions, London Zoo is a place which London Pass holders can visit for free with their card, saving £15.40 per adult and £11.90 per child.
