The London Travelcard which comes when you opt for a London Pass with Travel, gives holders unlimited access to the comprehensive public transport system in the city.

When can I use the Travelcard?public transport in London

  • 1 day Travelcards (off-peak) can be used from 9.30am Mondays to Fridays, all day Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, on each day of validity and for any journey that starts before 4.30am on the day following the expiry date
  • 2 and 3 day Travelcards (off-peak) have the same rules as 1 day Travelcard and can only be used on consecutive days
  • 7 day Travelcards are the best value for money and can be used at any time during the period of validity and for any journey that starts before 4.30am on the day following the expiry date. So if you get a 6 day London Pass with Travel you’re getting an extra day for free – plus your ‘peak’ ticket means that you’re not limited to travelling at any specific time of day
  • Children under 11 years of age may travel free of charge on the tube, buses, DLR and London Overground if accompanied by an adult holding a valid travelcard. Children travelling on National Rail services are required to pay extra

Remember the Travelcard is pre-stamped with an activation start date so your Travelcard will only be valid from the start date on the travelcard until the end of the duration selected (1, 2, 3, 6 days).

How do I activate the Travelcard?

If you order your London Pass with Travel online, you will have to select a start date when you purchase. This is because the Travelcard comes stamped with a pre-assigned activation date. Therefore your Travelcard will be valid from the date stamped on the card - not at the first time of use, like the London Pass itself.

If you’re flying into Heathrow or City Airport you can even use the Travelcard to get you into London – making life a lot easier!

Note: The transport network is closed on Christmas Day and limited services may be running around this time. The Travelcard works on a consecutive calendar day basis and cannot be carried over outside expiry dates, even if the Travelcard is unable to be used.  This is also the case during transport strikes.

"The London Pass along with the travel pass gave me the freedom to see everything I wanted to see when I was in London. The travel was exceptionally easy and the fact that everything was prepaid allowed me to be worry free about having enough money set back for admissions and travel. I would recommend the use of the London Pass to anyone travelling to London. I will certainly use it on my next trip!"
