With London Pass you can get free entry to the Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace – a saving of £8 on the normal adult admission price. It’s just one of the many London art galleries, museums and historic buildings offering free entry and discounts to pass holders.
The Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace is a permanent space dedicated to changing exhibitions from the Royal collection – an astonishing and wide-ranging collection of paintings, sculpture and other works of art as well as a glittering array of priceless treasure held in trust for the National by Her Majesty the Queen. This is a popular site for London visitors who love art.
Originally created over 40 years ago on the west front of Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s Gallery London was built out of the bomb-damaged ruins of a former private chapel and recently redeveloped.
This popular London art gallery was reopened by The Queen in 2002; exhibitions at the Queen’s Gallery London in 2006/7 include “Treasures From The Royal Collection” which brings together some of the greatest works of art acquired by Kings & Queens over the last 500 years and includes paintings by Vermeer, Rubens and Van Dyck, works by Fabergé as well as furniture, sculpture and ceramics, jewellery, silver and gold.
If you’re planning a visit to the Queen’s Gallery or Buckingham Palace then remember that with your London Pass you can get free entry to the Guards Museum and the Royal Mews. They are both within walking distance and are great tourist attractions.
