The River Bar is open from lunch and is licensed for children until 5pm – in fact, with its windows overlooking the Thames and a good value for money lunch menu it’s the perfect London bar to break up your London sightseeing and is close to Charing Cross, Embankment and Trafalgar Sq.

It’s also just a hop, skip and a jump over Hungerford Bridge to the South Bank Centre, home to Royal Festival Hall and the Hayward Gallery.

With its bare brick walls, butcher’s block tables and leather-lined booths, the Basement bar has a buzzing atmosphere later in the evening and is just as popular as an after work meeting place as it is with London visitors.
