What to do in London: See Shakespeare's plays in his famous globe theatre
Last Updated: Wed 30 Sep 2009

After visiting the Shakespeare's Globe Exhibition and Theatre tour, walk upstairs and watch one of the world's most famous writer's plays being performed.

William Shakespeare's As You Like It and Love's Labour's Lost are the last two plays being performed in the 2009 theatre season, titled Young Hearts, at Shakespeare's Globe theatre.

Love's Labour's Lost, directed by Dominic Dromgoole, and As You Like It, directed by Thea Sharrock, will close the season on October 10th.

The Globe Theatre is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse first built in 1599, where Shakespeare worked and for which he wrote many of his greatest plays.

Shakespeare's Globe Exhibition and Theatre tour is based under the Globe and explores the life of Shakespeare, the London in which he lived, and the theatre for which he wrote.

A guided tour inside the theatre reveals the story of its reconstruction and gives an insight into the working life of the Globe.
