Things to do in London: See the dazzling Christmas lights
Last Updated: Tue 10 Nov 2009

London's Christmas lights will get visitors to England's capital in the festive mood over the next month as they walk between London attractions.

A stunning array of decorative lights adorns the streets during the festive season, bringing light and colour to London throughout the winter.

The Christmas lights of Oxford Street and Regent Street, famous for London shopping, are being switched on together for the first time on Tuesday December 3rd, in a celebration of the world premiere of the new Disney film based on the famous Charles Dickens novel, A Christmas Carol.

St Paul's Cathedral Christmas lights switching on ceremony will take place at exactly the same time as the Oxford Street and Regent Street events.

Famous music stars will be performing at the St Paul's Cathedral event including acclaimed opera singer Andrea Bocelli, 1980s pop icons Spandau Ballet, up and coming starlet Little Boots and Britain's Got Talent star Faryl Smith.

There will be a whole host of festive things to do in London over the "lights on" weekend, visitors can take part in the Christmas carol world record attempt, in a mass sing along which aims to spread Christmas cheer throughout the West End.
