Seventy years of the Beano and Dandy

London's Cartoon Museum is celebrating seven decades of popular British comics the Beano and the Dandy, it has emerged.

Until November 2nd, one of London's more specialist attractions will be holding the Beano and Dandy Birthday Bash.

A question and answer session on October 28th promises to delight fans old and new and will offer those unfamiliar with the long-running cartoon publications the chance to find out more about what has made them such an enduring success.

Popular characters from both comics include Desperate Dan, famed for eating 'cow pie', The Bash Street Kids and, one of the most recognisable comic figures of the 20th century, Dennis the Menace.

The London Carton Museum showcases example of British comics from the 18th century to the present day. The museum includes everything from the fun frolics of children's comics to the scathing politic satire of publications like Punch and Private Eye.

LondonPass holders can gain free admission to the Carton Museum on London's Little Russell Street, saving £4 off the adult price.
