Save on London Attractions: Ben Hur comes to London stageThe O2 arena London attraction is set to play host to the world premiere of a stage version of the Charlton Heston film epic Ben Hur tonight (September 17th).
The stage play is based on the 1880 novel by Lewis Wallace and will no doubt have tourists flocking from London attractions to the O2 to see it.
Actor Sebastian Thrun is set to step into the shoes of the late Charlton Heston in the role as Judah Ben Hur, whose performance contributed to the film winning more than 11 Oscars.
The stage show promises to do its best to match the extravagance of the 1959 screen version, with more than 400 performers and 46 horses set to feature in the performance.
Directors will attempt to recreate the famous chariot race scene, which will take place in a 360-degree arena.
The score for the play will be provided by former drummer with The Police Stewart Copeland.
