London Zoo gears up for late night opening
Last Updated: Sat 25 Jul 2009

Preparations are underway at an unlikely London location for an after dark party.

London Zoo opens its doors late at night just once a year, with 2009's event scheduled to take place on August 7th.

It will be held between 18:30 and 22:00 BST and will include a whole host of entertainment, including a light and dance show and jazz music playing late into the evening.

Known as Zoo Nights, the festivities are great for all the family as an animal adventure will be on offer at the attraction's new children's zoo.

Animals in Action, a live show, will also be put on for visitors, showcasing a range of talents from the zoo's inhabitants.

Anyone who cannot make it to the event but still fancies a trip to London Zoo can get in for free with the London Pass, which will save £16.80 on an adult ticket and £13.30 for a child's.ADNFCR-1693-ID-19279251-ADNFCR
