Kew Gardens 'a fantastic family attraction'
Last Updated: Sat 25 Apr 2009

Kew Gardens is a great place for a family day out in London, says one celebrity.

James Cracknell reveals how he felt "proud" after a recent visit to the gardens with his children.

"I'm fortunate to live within the 'lung of London' - Richmond Park, Kew Gardens, Syon Park, Bushy Park and the gardens of Hampton Court Palace," he reveals to the Daily Telegraph.

He states that people are able to wander through the gardens, looking at the wide variety of plant species and landscapes, taking in the conservation efforts which its curator oversees.

With over 40 listed buildings, James says people are transported "to continent after continent", with the likes of the bamboo garden, rhododendron dell and lilac garden giving something for visitors to remember.

Tourists thinking of following in James' footsteps can do so free of charge with the London Pass, which saves £13 on the cost of an adult ticket.ADNFCR-1693-ID-19137671-ADNFCR
