Grown-up children 'can still enjoy family holidays'

Mums and dads whose children have grown up may once again be taking a holiday as a family this year, something which one industry commentator says is "not necessarily a bad thing".

As Brits look to make their holiday money go further, many are already opting for "staycations" - breaks in the UK rather than abroad - giving them the chance to enjoy London attractions and others closer to home.

Now older children are returning to the nest in order to take a family holiday, with most parents pleased to be reunited for some time away, says Lucy Ace, managing director at Take the Family.

She points out that family holidays when children are grown-up should not force everyone to live in each other's pockets but instead ensure they each have some independence.

"One of the reasons we holiday is to take time out of our busy lives and who better to spend time with than the people closest to you," Ms Ace adds.

Those going on a family holiday in the capital can use a London Pass to save money on their trip and take in some of the city's sights and sounds.
