Free entry to 55+ attractions: Explorers of the Universe exhibition at the Albert Hall
Last Updated: Mon 28 Sep 2009

To celebrate the International Year of Astronomy, the Royal Albert Hall is exhibiting Explorers of the Universe, a selection of photographs by Max Alexander, portraying all aspects of astronomy in the UK.

Mr Alexander uses interpretive and character portraits of astronomers, which are complemented by professional and amateur astronomy photography.

These photographs range from academic research and observation images to those taken by stargazing members of the public.

Max Alexander is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and has had a lifelong interest in astronomy.

Brian May, the guitarist in Queen, will also be exhibiting his own steroscopic imagery for the duration of the exhibition. These six viewing points will create 3D illusions of the moon and the planets, starting from a pair of 2D images.

The exhibition runs in the Royal Albert Hall until Monday, November 2nd and Leisure Pass holders do not have to pay on the door.
