Explore the 'formidable' Tower of London
Last Updated: Mon 29 Sep 2008

Described as a "formidable fortress", the Tower of London is one of the city's most popular attractions and from next month visitors will have the opportunity to get 'hands-on'.

From October 25th to November 2nd, those visiting the attraction will have the opportunity to fire full-size replica siege engines from the tower's moat.

As well as firing siege engines, visitors can also learn how in 1381, the walls of the tower were breached during the Peasants' Revolt.

A number of new displays have recently opened at the tower, including a fighting platform on the East Wall Walk and visitors can currently view life-size metal casts of soldiers and their weapons on the Tower Wall Walks.

Meanwhile, other highlights of the Tower of London include the Crown Jewels, the White Tower, Tower Green and Lady Jane Grey graffiti.

Visitors can gain entry to the Tower of London using their London Pass
