Chelsea stumble again in title raceWhile Liverpool were busy thrashing a feckless Newcastle side, their closest title rivals Chelsea saw a draw snatched from the jaws of victory in an exhilarating west London derby this weekend.
Clint Dempsey put Fulham ahead after only ten minutes, showing neat control as he trapped the ball on his chest and cutely flicked it past a flailing Petr Cech.
Frank Lampard equalised for the visitors after the interval before putting his side a goal to the good just over 20 minutes later.
In the dying seconds maximum points seemed assured for Chelsea, but once again the Cottager's American striker had other ideas, thumping a header into the net with only a minute of normal time remaining.
After the match Scolari seemed to hint at a shift to a more pragmatic approach in favour of the flowing football which has looked great all season while sometimes failing to kill off the opposition.
"We had more possession, but we made two dangerous mistakes in our box and because of that we've lost two points, it really was just incredible," he said.
"But we're in a good position, we just need to win games, nothing more."
